Skirt3254/63

Length of plaited coconut fibre with a short fringe. The fringe is created from thin strips of grass woven into waistband. On each end, the plaited cord thins out once the fringe stops. It appears that some sections of the fringe were originally dyed red or black. A small piece of tape with the collector's number written on it is adhered to the tie.

The Harpist3010/21 a-d

Male figure playing a harp. Male figure (part a) wearing knee-length black robes with a white tie at the waist and a necklace made of white and red seeds. Both arms and legs are moveable. The large harp (part b) has two feet and is strung with nylon. The figure has large hands with long fingers, and an open mouth in which a dark brown wooden pipe (part c) fits. The figure stands on a wooden platform (part d), which has been painted white on top, and has four leather loops for footholds.

Devil Costume3289/5 b-c

Luzbel devil costume; large black velvet sequinned tunic (part b), with matching pants (part c). Made of black velvet with white fringe all along bottom of tunic, cuffs, and pant legs. Tunic has shiny red wing-like extensions with solid red sequin stickers underneath. Separate star or comet(?) designs on each arm. Back of tunic has heavily sequinned Mayan design in green, silver and red; large red devil face on front. Many plastic discs and flowers sewn on. Two silver six-point stars with a short string of silver bead garland are attached on the left side. Black corduroy pants have drawstring waist, and sequinned designs on pant legs and below devil face. (Part a is the matching cape.)

Textile3080/21

Textile. Long cloth is dark brown with thin multi-coloured stripes at even intervals, and wide end stripes of mauve, green, blue and yellow. Ends hold a short warp fringe. Dense embroidery covers the surface in small motifs ranging from joined triangles, X-shapes, and boxes, in a colours such as neon pink, red, blue, green and orange. The backside shows no embroidery other than long, single remnants of thread.
