Bentwood Box2713/33 a-b

Painted bentwood box with lid. All four sides made from a single cedar board, steamed and bent into three right angle corners. The open seam is nailed together. A separate cedar board is nailed on to make a bottom. The front and back sides have painted distributive designs in red and black. The side panels have an outline in red and black. The lid (part b) is unpainted.

Rectangular shaped, dark stained, carved feast dish with a deep long bowl and two upright, rounded ends. The sides are rounded horizontally with their edges angled out wider then the base. The surface is detailed with kerfed sections in a variety of angles.

Paddle2713/31

Carved, wood paddle with an unfinished painted design depicting an eagle with another bird figure. The eagle head is on the top of the shaft while the body is depicted in the blade. Flat blade with a tapered point, rounded shaft and a cylindrical shaped handle mounted on top. The reverse is painted green and inscribed in pencil with ‘Charlie H. Dudoward, Jan 14th 1966’. Two brown fabric ties are nailed to the back.
