Part (a) Elongated rectangular coiled basket (bifurcated stitches) with attached lid and front tie closure. Parallel slat base and lid construction. Fully imbricated in cat-tail grass (?) with geometric diagonal stepped rows alternating in red and black cherry bark. Part (b) Lid has flange. Rim is imbricated in cat-tail grass (?) and the surface of lid is beaded in rows of red and dark cherry bark. Rawhide hinges and tie closure.

Hood with a rectangular shape when lying flat. The hood is composed of silk fabric with bands of black, grey and dark blue with an ikat pattern in grey-blue, and the top front of the hood is coverd in a rectangle of black silk. A tie composed of off-white silk with printed floral designs in bright red, blue, pink, purple, yellow and brown is attached near the centre of each side along the front edge.

Sash composed of two narrower bands of geometric patterns in green and off-white close to the edges with a wider band of geometric designs as well as bird and fish figures at the centre. The remainder of the sash features bands of orange-brown, dark green, red and off-white in varying widths. The ends are fringed.

Belt with embroidery and tassels. The belt front is rectangular with a geometric pattern embroidered on dark blue ground. At each end of the front are multicoloured tassels decorated with beads. At one end the dark blue band continues on past the front piece. The band has a geometric trim in red and green and end with a natural coloured fabric square.

Belt with embroidery, hanging panel and tassels. The belt front is rectangular with cross-stitched embroidery in an abstract geometric pattern, predominantly pink, red and white on dark blue ground. There are two yellow ties at either end. Attached to one end of the belt front is a long, natural-coloured band with horizontal blank lines. Midway along the band is a hanging panel with a pointed top and two lower strips. The lower strips have a geometric pattern on dark blue and multicoloured tassels with beads.

Kimono Jacket371/2

Black haori (羽織) or jacket/overcoat with the lining or haura (羽裏) with colourful designs known as gaku’ura (額裏). The neck and centre opening are edged with a wide black band. The sleeves are short with hanging panels and an opening under the arms. There are white five family crests or kamon (家紋) known as maru-ni-mitsu aoi (丸に三つ葵; three wild ginger leaves in a circle) on the upper front, on the back and on the back of both sleeves. The lining on the upper sleeves have floral and coral motifs. The designs on the lower front and back lining are village scenes and seascapes with snowed covered pine tree and ume plum blossom motifs.
