Description

Cooking basket made of tightly coiled spruce root. The inside of the basket is heavily soiled from use. The outside has the traces of an imbricated design which is too faint to identify. The basket has a length of plaited cedar bark rope attachedto its rim.; Good

Context

The construction of the basket suggests it is Interior Salish in origin but it may have been trade along the coast (G.Crowther).
