Oval-shaped stone bowl. The outside of the bowl has a raised animal head and front paws depicted. There is some cross hatching along the sides, and on the upper rim a groove has been carved three quarters of the way around the bowl. The dish is deep. The colour is white and orange. The form may represent a turtle?

This bowl was found on Laidlaw Beach along the Fraser River. Archaeologist Charles E. Borden examined it and identified it as belonging to the Fraser Canyon Sequence - Baldwin Phase. It was about six feet down. He felt it dated to between 1000 B.C. and 400 B.P. Radiocarbon dates 850 / 840 B.P. / 410 B.P.
