A brightly coloured square shawl finished on all four sides with a knotted multi-coloured self-fringe. The woven motif is consisting of large blocks of colour containing designs of flowers and birds in jacquard weave. From each corner, there is a bright orange-red flower that has swirling symmetrical flora at each side and which ends with a fleur-de-lis-like tip pointing toward the centre on a light orange-red background. Bordered by four bands, each of which has three peacocks in a circle connected by swirling flora. Opposite bands are the same colours of either purple on a green or birght orange-red on purple. Corners of the bands have a purple flower on dark blue. Edges are light orange-red.
Shawls, or the fabric for making them, are imported from India or elsewhere in Asia and are purchased at the store. Photographs show them worn tied around the neck with the fringe showing at the shoulders and down the back, or draped loosely over the head under a hat or cap, or draped over a hat and tied under the chin.
