String puppet with a decorated yellow hat that has a high centre point and ear-area embellishments. Facial features are painted on, as are finger, toes, and some wrinkles on the neck. The puppet wears a long red tunic with a yellow belt at the waist and a matching neck ornament, both made out of paper. Matching pants cover the legs, and both pants and tunic are edged with gold. The puppet is controlled by strings attached to the upper back, sides of the head, thighs and hands. The arms are moveable at shoulders and elbow, and the legs at the hip and knee.
Collected in Burma by Charles and Jane Brant, around 1949.
