Large looped net bag (bilum), loosely woven and expandable. The handle or tumpline is circular with the body woven from the handle. Due to the curve at the top, the bag is narrow at the shoulder, widening toward a rounded rectangular bottom. The opening is wide. The body of the bag has horizontal bands of red alternating with bands of brown or green.
Collected by the donor in 1976-1980, when she and her husband were living in Bougainville, where her husband worked as a mining engineer; some of the pieces were gifted to them.
