Brooch527/33 a-c

A set of two brooches on a brown piece of paper with an inscription on both sides (part c). One brooch is a small yarn doll (part a) with a green dress, tan-coloured skin, blue eyes, a red mouth, and black hair, with arms open at the sides and a safety pin at the back. The second is a metal brooch in the shape of an eagle, with its wings outstretched (part b).

Bag527/7

Tanned and smoked moosehide, pouch style bag. Front has beaded floral design in red, orange, maroon, yellow, blue and green. Top is trimmed with soft variegated hide; outside seams are also trimmed with thin strips of the same hide. Handle has serrated edges. Pouch and handle are lined with green cotton fabric with a balck and white clover design. Machine stitched.

Boots527/26 a-b

Pair of hide boots with ecru-coloured fur trim around the centre. Above the fur trim, bands of red, yellow, pink and white cloth are over sewn with geometric patterns of green and blue cloth with yellow and green rickrack ribbon. Indigo-coloured felt is sewn below the fur trim. Green felt covers the top of the foot. Bands of red and blue cloth with white rickrack ribbon trims the green felt around the top of the foot. Skin ties that lace around the ankles of both boots are tied together with orange and blue tassels. Lined with ecru-coloured cloth.

Pair of hide boots with ecru-coloured fur trim around the centre and extensive floral embroidery above the trim. Bands of red, blue and white cloth with yellow and red rickrack ribbon trim the top of the boots. Blue cloth below the fur trim covering the top of the foot. A band of red rickrack ribbon trims the blue cloth around the top of the foot. A cut out red and green felt diamond shape is sewn onto the blue cloth in the centre of the top of the foot. Skin ties lace around the ankle. Lined with ecru-coloured cloth.

Black, red and yellow painting of two zoomorphic figures standing, one on top of the other, on Sisiutl's head. The bottom figure holds a copper that it bites with a long snout. The top figure is bird-like and stands with large, open wings. From the central head, Sisiutl curls up on either side along the outer edges of the paper. "David Matilpi" is inscribed in black ink in the upper left corner.

Colours used are orange, purple, blue, green, red and white. The initials "NW" are cut out of blue paper and affixed near the upper right corner of the backing paper.
