Bowl3229/1

Round, wide-mouthed bowl. Bowl flares slightly out from the rim and narrows sharply at the halfway point toward a small round base. The outside surface is a light cream colour, covered in a finely etched pattern outlined with blue and red linear figures. Both the top rim and the halfway point of the bowl are ringed with a thick dark brown line. The interior of the bowl is painted brown and the base is painted red. Both inside and outside have a shiny glaze.

Brown fur boots with pointed, upturned toes. Blue cloth trim around top of boot, underneath which is sewn a wide bands of red fabric with geometric designs in blue and yellow. Boots lace up at the top; red, blue and white braided woolen cord with tassels at the ends.

Shawl853/4

A brightly coloured square shawl finished on all four sides with a knotted multi-coloured self-fringe. The woven motif is consisting of large blocks of colour containing designs of flowers and birds in jacquard weave. From each corner, there is a bright orange-red flower that has swirling symmetrical flora at each side and which ends with a fleur-de-lis-like tip pointing toward the centre on a light orange-red background. Bordered by four bands, each of which has three peacocks in a circle connected by swirling flora. Opposite bands are the same colours of either purple on a green or birght orange-red on purple. Corners of the bands have a purple flower on dark blue. Edges are light orange-red.

Ankle-length off-white and brown reindeer fur shoes have narrow, pointed, turned-up toes. Top edges trimmed with a 6.8 cm band of red and green wool fabric, which is appliqued with multi-coloured emboidered ribbon and rickrack. Front opening bound with leather, punched, laced with twisted red, blue and yellow wool yarn. Laces trimmed with red, blue and yellow tassels.

A woman's woven belt with red, and blue geometric motifs on an off-white background. Lined and stiffened with a light-weight cotton canvas band. Tied with red and blue twisted wool cords trimmed with large red pompoms that have blue centres.

Men's dark blue wool tunic. The tunic has high standing collar and centre front opening with hook and eye closure, edged with green wool. The tunic hangs straight from the shoulders in front, back is slightly fitted above waist and is flared below the waist by means of triangular gores. There are multicoloured bands (red predominating) of wool textile, embroidered ribbons and rickrack at collar, shoulders, neck opening, upper back, cuffs and bottom hem. There is a concealed inner pocket on the chest, accessible through the centre front opening. The inside is unlined.

Women's blue wool tunic. The tunic has a deep v-neck with a hook and eye closure. It hangs straight from the shoulders in front, the back is slightly fitted above waist and has two layers of ruffles below the waist by means of triangular gores. There are bands of red with embroidery and rickrack in yellow, green and blue around the neck, shoulders, upper back, cuffs and hem. The lower ruffled hem has solid bands of red, green and blue. The inside is unlined.

A woman's red wool hat trimmed with wide bands composed of many rows of multi-coloured embroidered ribbon, rickrack, and braid. Puffy, high crown is gathered onto the contoured headband which ends in long ear flaps secured under the chin with red ribbon ties. Partially lined with multi-coloured striped cotton canvas. Front edge eased to fit closely around the face.
