Large rectangular textile with light pink and blue designs on cream ground. The woven designs consist of large squares, alternating pink and blue. There is a wide border along two sides with a zigzag motif. Used as backing for tapa cloth (1060/79 a).

Large rectangular tapa cloth with designs in red-brown, brown and black on natural coloured ground. The designs consist of wide rows of squares with abstract line motifs.

Purse1060/41

Brown leather purse with red, yellow and black designs, flaps and tassels. The body of the purse is brown with black trim around the edges. There are two red flaps, one on the front and back. On the flap is a black diamond surrounded by swirls beneath a yellow diamond patterned band. The flap is closed with a large woven brown button. Underneath the flap is a black diamond with curled ends surrounded by four red hearts. The designs on and under the flap are the same on both sides. Hanging from the beneath the flaps is a brown leather tassel. The handle of the purse is a dark brown cord threaded through brown loops attached to the body of the purse and secured by black and red woven buttons on the ends. Hanging down the sides of the purse, beneath the brown loops, are long and short decorated leather strips and a long fringe.

Bag1060/83

Bag is rectangular with rounded corners, geometric designs and fringe. The front of the bag has a large panel with a square-diamond design in red, yellow and green. There is a short red and black strap with scalloped edges at both ends of the bag. A fringe extends along the edges from strap to strap. The back of the bag has a large panel with squares arranged in three rows in red, yellow and green. At one end the panel stops short of the skin border creating the opening of the bag.

The skirt is made of brown grasses with painted palm leaves. The grass is woven into a thick fibre band along the top of the skirt. Also woven into the band are palm leaves decoratively cut and painted red, orange and brown.

Cape1060/78

Feather trimmed cape. Woven from off-white commercial wool yarn with a twined plant fibre weft. The ends of small brown and green feathers have been caught in each twist of the weft in a wide border around the edges. The central panel has several brown feathers inserted in the same fashion. Black yarn alternates with off-white yarn at the short ends, and there is an inner border of green and yellow yarn.

Headdress1060/61

Headdress consisting of concentric rings of hide and a circle of hide at the top of the crown, all joined by strands of beadwork in dark red, dark blue, medium blue, white, and light green with a fringe at the rim of small blue and white beads as well as larger purple beads. There are four short beaded strands also attached at the rim as well as two long strands of larger blue and green beads alternating with lengths of small white beads and intersperced with light pink beads as well as large painted wooden(?) beads in green and red. Two brass hooks are attached to a hide loop at the rim.

Shoes1060/52 a-b

Pair of shoes with pointed toes, reddish-brown leather soles, and yellow-brown leather uppers. The uppers have an opening like a slit across the foot just behind the arch and are embroidered on the top of the foot with a floral design in metal wire with black, pink and off-white fabric applique over which is silk(?) thread.
