Reginald "Reg" Robinson was born in Stevenage, England and immigrated to Canada in 1920. He worked at various jobs until World War two broke out, at which time he immediately enlisted and was stationed in Victoria, BC. In early 1945 he shipped overseas to Darwin, Australia as a member of the 1st Canadian Special Wireless Group. While stationed there Sergeant Robinson obtained special permission from his commanding officer to photograph members of the neighbouring indigenous tribes. During his stay, he was also gifted with many artifacts which were carefully shipped home to Canada. After the war, he went on to civilian accomplishments, as the first paid manager of the South Burnaby Credit Union, a community volunteer, and as an amateur photographer. His children have proudly donated his collection in memory of a loving father who taught them that "times change, technology changes, but principles are forever."
