Ian Malcolm "Jack" Mackinnon served with Captain Foellmer on the Hudson's Bay Company schooner 'Lady Kindersley', from 1921-1924, and then on the 'Baychimo' from 1925-1931. The Vancouver Maritime Museum has a photo album in their archives created by Mackinnon during his voyages to the arctic. Ian Mackinnon presented Frank Burnett with his collection of Inuit objects, recorded as having been collected during three years in the Coppermine area, 1921-1924. The Inuit collection was included with Frank Burnett's donation to UBC in 1927. The BC Archives vital statistics have a record of Mackinnon's marriage to Clara French in 1932, where his occupation is listed as Fur Trader.
