According to the Historical Section of the R.C.M.P., Mr. Douglas was member of the R.C.M.P. who joined the force on April 15, 1914. His regimental number was 5798. During his career he spent some time as an officer in the Arctic. He retired from the force on December 5, 1922 by which time he had reached the rank of Sergeant.
