Mabel Taylor was a renowned Nuu-chah-nulth basket-maker. Her baskets can be found in museum and private collections throughout the world. Her mother was Ditidaht, her father was Tseshaht. She moved to Port Alberni as a teenager and around 1920 married Roy Taylor. They were married for over 50 years, living in various places around the Tseshaht traditional territory.
