Primrose Adams is a Haida artist from Massett, daughter of Robert and Florence Davidson. She started basketry in 1977 under the direction of her mother-in-law Selena Peratrovich. Primrose works in the traditional manner of collecting and dying her own spruce root. Her work can be identified by the small signature coloured band with which she begins most of her works. In 2011 Adams was named the recipient of the 2011 Creative Lifetime Achievement Award for First Nations’ Art, and has been recognized both locally and internationally for practicing the art of spruce root basket weaving.
