Monica Williams (nee Phillips) was born at Chehalis and lived in Chilliwack on the Skwah Reserve. Her mother was Elizabeth Phillips; her grandmother was the well-known weaver Mary Peters. Williams started weaving in 1968. One of her weavings was chosen by the City of Chilliwack to be presented to the Lord Mayor of London, England when he visited British Columbia. One of her weavings is in the Royal Ontario Museum collection, and others are in various parts of the world.
