Lucy Acat Simla (Sʔimlaʔxw) Richter was from the Okanagan Band. She became the wife of a rancher named Frank Richter (from Bohemia, 1837-1910) in 1867 or 1868, who was said to be the biggest rancher in the Similkameen at that time. However, in 1894 Frank married a 17-year-old white woman, Florence Louden. So at that time he established a separate cabin for Lucy on the ranch, and apparently provided for her needs until she died there, in 1903.
