John Windsor Bradburn was a late Victorian designer – active starting around 1875 – working primarily in the decorative tile industry. Born into a family of patternmakers for the Coalbrookdale Company, Bradburn began his career during the 1870’s at Maw & Co., as a trainee draughtsman; he also attended the Coalbrookdale School of Art. Between 1899–1911 Bradburn was involved in several large scale projects undertaken by Maw & Co., including overseeing the complex tiled floor for the Marriage Pavilion, Mysore Palace, India.
