Wada Sanzō (和田三造; March 3, 1883 – August 22, 1967) was a Japanese artist. Born in Hyogo Prefecture, he grew up in Fukuoka Prefecture and moved to Tokyo in 1899. He studied Western style painting with Kuroda Seseiki (黒田清輝). He then studied at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts and later taught at the school. He received governmental funding to study art in Europe in 1909, and travelled to India and Myanmar in 1914 on the way back to Japan. After 1938, he started to produce a series of woodblock prints. His print is classified as shin-hanga (新版画, literally “new prints”). He also designed posters and costumes for films, and produced ink paintings.
