Štěpán Zálešák (1874 - 1945) was a Czech sculptor and carver. He specialized mainly in sacred art, he also devoted himself to restoration work. His works adorn many Czech churches (St. Vitus Cathedral). In 1898–1912 he worked in his own studio in Prague, most of his marionettes come from this period. In 1912 he began teaching carving and sculpture at the School of Applied Arts. [https://www.marionettes.cz/en-CAD/detail/766-devil-with-a-dog-head-antik-AJ]
