Leslie John was the son of Jimmy John (Nuu-chah-nulth) and Cecilia Diholt. William Good adopted Jimmy John into the Snuneymuxw First Nation. The family lived in Nanaimo and had a carving workshop in Cedar, c. 1950-80.
