Razia Ahmed was born in Pakistan. She has studied art and design in England, Thailand, Egypt and France. In 1987, she received a BA in fine arts and anthropology from the University of British Columbia. She also has earned a diploma from the Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, where she specialized in ceramics, photography and silk-screen printing. From 1987-1989 she was a museum assistant at the Museum of Anthropology and served an internship at the Vancouver Museum and Planetarium. She lives in Salmon Arm, BC.
