French Canadian artist and manufacturer. Kinzie worked in Montreal, Detroit and Chicago and manufactured silver ornaments from 1780 to 1812. He dealt with the Hudson's Bay Co. and the NorthWest Co. Between 1804-1812 he was a Justice of the Peace in Chicago, until captured by the English and taken to Detroit as a prisoner. In 1816 he returned to Chicago where he lived until his death in 1828.
