Borradaile was a Canadian cameraman, cinematographer and a veteran of the First and Second World Wars. In 1982, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. Some of his works included "Elephant Boy" (India) and Four Feathers" (Sudan) and he worked in the Congo (DRC) and Uganda on "Sanders of the River" and in Ethiopia on a film about Emperor Halie Selassie. In 1947 he worked on "The Great White Hunter," set in Kenya.
