Chief Iwakalas, or Jim Humchitt (“Adatana”). Humchitt was living in Fort Rupert when he sold his collection to MOA in 1953, however G. Cranmer Webster listed him as being from Hope Island and Smith Inlet. The BC vital indexes list a James Humchitt marrying a woman named Annie in Fort Rupert in 1934, as well as his death, at age 50, in 1954 in Alert Bay.
