Dorian Rae established her gallery "The Dorian Rae Collection" in Vancouver in 1978. Previous to that she lived, traveled extensively, and collected art and textiles in South East Asia. Rae sold artifacts to museums and collectors all over the world and curated exhibitions in Canadian museums and public galleries on African art and Asian art and textiles.
