Description

Prints wit two fighting men. The man on the right side is holding down a very large rat with his right foot. The man on the left side appears to be sitting, with his hands clasped together as he looks to the right. There is a red object next to his mouth; he is wearing light brown clothing. The man on the right side has a club in his upraised right hand, a sword in his outward stretched left hand, and is facing down to the left side looking at the rat. He is wearing clothing that has a red brown and brown pattern on a black background with turquoise sleeves. The background is grey. Each lower outer corner has a circular red seal with black writing near it. The print is in two vertically rectangular pieces, adhered to horizontally rectangular paper.

Narrative

The print is signed with two different signatures with Kōchōrō Toyokuni ga (香蝶楼豊國画) on the right, and Ichiyōsai Toyokuni ga(一陽斎豊國画) on the left with red circle seals known as toshidama-in (年玉印).
