Description
Pair of child’s moccasins with central eagle design and geometric patterns beaded over the toe. Done in light blue, dark blue, red and yellow. Moccasins are white with an extended, overturned brown rim, and a long, narrow tongue with a lace on either side of it.
Narrative
The St. Ann's Academy Museum, or Sisters of Saint Ann Museum, was established in 1910 in Victoria, and was closed in 1974. Documentation from the museum says these were acquired in 1913.
Specific Techniques
Each moccasin is made of three separate pieces of skin- the sole, upper, and cuff. There are side seams and inverted T seams at the heels.
