Duffek is currently MOA Curator, Contemporary Visual Arts + Pacific Northwest; Department Head, Curatorial + Design. In the spring of 1983, she received her MA in Anthropology from UBC with a thesis titled 'The Contemporary Northwest Coast Indian Art Market.' From 1985 through 1999, Duffek was a Guest Curator and Research Associate at MOA. In 1999, she was Interim Manager in Administration at MOA. In 2000, she was hired as Curator of Contemporary Visual Arts & the Pacific Northwest. Since 1985 Duffek has published numerous articles, essays, anthologies and exhibition catalogues. She co-authored 'The Transforming Image: Painted Arts of Northwest Coast First Nations' and co-edited 'Bill Reid and Beyond: Expanding on Modern Native Art'. Duffek has also curated numerous exhibitions at MOA, including 'Border Zones: New Art across Cultures'; 'Robert Davidson: The Abstract Edge'; 'Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun: Unceded Territories'; and 'In a Different Light: Reflecting on Northwest Coast Art'. In 2021 she became Dept. Head, Curatorial + Design.
